Day 9 of Advent
Becky's Christmas
Tasha Tudor's tale paints a beautiful picture of togetherness during Christmas, as it follows Becky and her family’s preparations for the holiday. The handmade details, from decorations to meals, inspire a sense of warmth and tradition. Our mom especially loves how the whole family, even the animals and dolls, were involved in all the festivities.

Activity for Today
A Present for your Pet!
Plan a present for a pet today! You could buy one or make one like Becky did for her cat in this story. You could even make a catnip toy by stuffing a muslin bag (such as Piper and Leaf bag) with catnip!
Be enchanted by simple things with Ceylon, a touch of catnip, and delicate hints of calendula
Let's spill the tea about Monk's Meditation...
Eloquent Description
Supplicative earthy Ceylon Black tea, bold grenadine, and a smooth, banana-like vanilla finish. A traditional favorite with a pensive twist of calming catnip paradoxically at one with the invigorating caffeine of the Ceylon tea and the svelte forbidden sweetness of grenadine and vanilla and lily-gilding marigold flowers.
Ingredients
- Ceylon Black Tea
- Calendula Petals
- Organic Grenadine Flavor
- Catnip
Steeping Suggestions
For hot tea, steep one tea bag in 8 to 10oz of 212 water for 3.5 minutes. For iced, use half the water(same temp), steep for the same time, and add ice after you pull the tea bag out.
Someone Else's Thoughts
“I love this tea! It has a great blend of spices and bold flavor. My friends and family have all loved it so far as well!”

Fun Fact!
Read Reviews at GoodReads"Becky's Christmas" was written by the beloved Tasha Tudor, a favorite of both families. In 2001, Brigette and her dad were on their way to see Tasha when the 9/11 attacks happened. Though they never got to meet her before she passed away, her loving memory lives on in her books and our hearts! Brigette is on a lifelong quest for a nativity just like the one in "Becky’s Christmas" and may or may not be trying to persuade one of her sons to carve it for her!

Becky's Christmas
"Becky loved the smell of Christmas in the house. Pine from the tree, spicy smells from the kitchen, and the scent of beeswax from polished candlesticks mixed together to make the most wonderful fragrance in the world.”

About the Author
Tasha Tudor, born Starling Burgess in Boston, Massachusetts, was the daughter of naval architect W. Starling Burgess and portrait painter Rosamund Tudor. Renamed Natasha after the character from War and Peace, she was later called Tasha. She spent her early years in Marblehead, Massachusetts, and later moved to North Chevy Chase, Maryland, due to her father's work.
Her parents divorced when she was nine, leading Tasha to live with family friends in Redding, Connecticut. This creative environment allowed her to thrive, and she later described it as “the best thing that ever happened to me.” Inspired by her love for the agrarian lifestyle, she saved money as a teenager to buy a dairy cow named Delilah.
Often introduced as "Rosamund Tudor's daughter," she adopted the Tudor surname legally after her second divorce. Tasha married Thomas McCready in 1938, and they raised four children—Bethany, Seth, Thomas, and Efner—on a large farm in Webster, New Hampshire. Her first story, Pumpkin Moonshine, was published in 1938. After their divorce in 1961, her children changed their last name to Tudor.
Tasha illustrated nearly 100 books, with her last being Corgiville Christmas in 2003. She also collaborated on the 1957 film The Golden Key: Enter the Fantasy World of Tasha Tudor. Tudor lived in Marlboro, Vermont, in a house modeled after friends' homes in New Hampshire, with her sons Seth and Tom nearby. She collaborated closely with her children on various projects throughout her life.
