Westward Ho! Why a Camper?

Westward Ho! Why a Camper?

Caleb and Brigette are gearing up for an exciting Western adventure this spring (check out our first post on this journey here and help us plan the trip!).

So, how did this wild idea come about? Well, life with 8 kids is never dull, but we haven't let it slow us down. Our kids love being involved in the family business, plus they’re always up for food and nature adventures (yes, in that order!). But after a fun family trip to St. Louis in 2024, we came home feeling cramped, exhausted, and honestly, like we didn’t want to travel again anytime soon. On the drive back, we started brainstorming ways to make future trips more manageable. By the time we pulled into the driveway, we realized the only way to keep up our travels was to get a travel trailer. How did we land on that idea? We’re not entirely sure—it probably had something to do with the sleepless nights, long stretches of highway, and one too many cups of coffee and tea. It still felt like a far-off dream, but as things tend to go around here, it all snowballed quickly. Just a few weeks later, after what we can only describe as a series of God-ordained events, we found ourselves looking at a 34ft travel trailer sitting in our driveway, wondering, “What on earth did we just do? And what now?”

Oh, and by the way, we now need a vehicle that can carry 10 people and tow a 34ft trailer! Stay tuned for our vehicle update!
