Westward Ho! On the Road Again: A Rainy Montana Farewell (Day 35)

Westward Ho! On the Road Again: A Rainy Montana Farewell (Day 35)

Goodbye, Glacier! We squeezed in one last trail just as the rain began to fall, then hit the road, dodging a storm all the way south through Montana. The mountains capped in thick, low-hanging mist were so beautiful and dramatic!

Our dinner stop was a new level of adventure: we were the only ones crazy enough to be picnicking in the foggy wind and rain at Lewis and Clark Park right on the Missouri River. The kids thought it was hilarious!

The going was slow, so we arrived very late to our next stop, Greycliff Mill, with distant lightning flashing across the sky. The most wonderful part of the day was the incredible hospitality from our hosts, who met us with warm smiles despite the late hour and stormy weather. After a long, wet day on the road, that kindness felt like the biggest blessing.
